Make sure your users are kept up to date!
Mallcomm uses a push system to send information to users' phones quickly. Earlier this year, we released a huge upgrade to our push notifications resulting in our alerts being more reliable and up to 100x faster!
On 31st October 2022 we will be retiring the existing legacy push service - this is what you need to know about this changeover.
The changeover requires users to have the latest version of the app.
All of our apps have been updated for a few months now, so almost all of your app users will have the most recent version. However, there may be a few that have not done so yet, so we recommend distributing some information about this to communicate to your tenants.
For Apple (iOS) users to continue to receive pushes, they will need to have the most recent version of the app and to have also logged into the platform. Any Apple user that has not logged into the updated app will not receive push notifications after the 31st October.
We, therefore, recommend that you communicate this information to them to ensure a smooth continuation of service. For your convenience, we suggest placing something like the following as an item inside your app with a push notification or two - please feel free to adapt to your needs:
Dear <app name> user,
The Mallcomm communications system is being upgraded on 31 October 2022. This is to provide for notifications that are more reliable and up to 100x faster.
If you are using Apple (iOS) as your mobile device, in order to ensure you continue to receive push notifications after the above date, please go to the app store and check you have the most recent app version.
